THE De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) recently announced the academic appointments of its associate deans for the School of Management and Information Technology (SMIT), effective first term of Academic Year 2022- 2023.
Catherine Mojado was named as the Associate Dean for SMIT Analytics, Computing, and Infotech (ACI) Cluster.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Cruz Jr. was announced as the Associate Dean for SMIT Leadership, Management, and Entrepreneurship (LME) Cluster.
Mojado served as chairperson of the SMIT Information Systems Program from Academic Years 2017 to 2018 and 2021 to 2022. She was instrumental in the development of the school's latest Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity program.
Her expertise includes IT infrastructures, computer networking, information security, enterprise architecture, web design and e-learning management. She has been an instructor in several institutions such as St. Paul University, Technological University of the Philippines-Graduate School and Adamson University.
Prior to Benilde, she was an ICT consultant for the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and an ICT manager at Saint Paul University Manila.
Mojado earned her Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree and her Master of Engineering major in Computer Engineering degree from Adamson University. She is currently completing her doctoral degree in Information Technology at St. Paul University Philippines Tuguegarao City.
Cruz has taught in Benilde since 2017 and served as the OIC chairperson of the SMIT Export Management Program for a term.
Cruz has been a faculty member in different institutions, to include Far Eastern University-MBA Program, Asia Pacific College, Assumption College's Milleret School of Business and Management for Women (MSBMW), La Salle College International, Southville Foreign Colleges, SFC-American City University, SFC-IHMCS, St. Paul University Manila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig.
He was the Quality Assurance head, chairperson for Marketing and International Business and dean for the School of Business of Assumption College.
He completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting at Pasig Catholic College. He finished his Master of Business Administration at the Ateneo de Manila Graduate School of Business. He has also earned Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) units from the De La Salle University.
Mojado and Cruz will lead Benilde SMIT in pursuing the college's missions of innovation and inclusion through the most technology-driven and industry-relevant business-technology programs.
The ACI Cluster is comprised of degree programs in Cybersecurity, Interactive Entertainment and Multimedia Computing, Information Systems, and Business Administration with majors in Business Intelligence and Analytics and Computer Applications.
The LME Cluster covers programs that instill leadership skills, management expertise, and entrepreneurial excellence to the students. It includes bachelor's diplomas in Real Estate Management and Business Administration with majors in Business Management, Export Management, Human Resource Management and Marketing Management. It houses two graduate programs: Master in International Business and Master in Human Resource Management.
