Computer Science and Computer Engineering Department … – University of Arkansas Newswire

Joshua Gilgen, fiscal manager for the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
The University of Arkansas Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering is happy to welcome Joshua Gilgen as the new fiscal manager.
Gilgen has worked for the University of Arkansas since 2020. In his most recent position as a post-award specialist for the Office of Sponsored Programs, Gilgen reviewed new awards and award amendments in Workday, created journal entries to correct accounting, reported awards and invoiced sponsors, and aided in cleaning up accounting from conversion to new software.
Prior to joining the U of A, Gilgen worked as a bank teller in Joplin, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration in accounting from Missouri Southern State University.
Jia Di, computer science and computer engineering department head and leader of the search, said he is excited to have Gilgen on the team.
"He is a valuable asset to our growing team. We are working hard to put together a staff of extraordinary people, and Josh has proven his abilities to the university in just a short amount of time," Di said.
Gilgen hopes to contribute his skills and knowledge to the department in developmental ways.
"I'm excited to be a part of a great team in the computer science and computer engineering department. I look forward to our future success," Gilgen said.

The U of A and partner institutions will collaborate to help regional food producers expand access to nutritious food and spur economic development.
