Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering – Kettering University News

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) offers ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in both electrical engineering and computer engineering, as well as a Master of Science in Engineering in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Undergraduate students at Kettering can earn a minor in electrical or computer engineering as well as the possibility to dual major in either degree program.
A Mobility Systems master level degree is offered on campus through the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
Labs are integral part of the Kettering education. The offer students the opportunity to get hands-on experience applying theory learned in the classroom.
Electrical Engineering students will have labs in circuits, electronics and electrical machines. Elective course choices give the opportunity to do lab work in digital signal processing, high voltage power, mobility systems and advanced power electronics.
Computer Engineering students will have labs in digitals, microcomputers and computer networks. Advanced course options will find the student in labs like advanced logic systems and haptics.
Undergraduate and graduate students will get hands-on experience in several research labs overseen by the Electrical & Computer Engineering faculty.
The High Voltage Lab allows faculty and students to conduct research in the area of dielectric materials at different physical states.
The Research in Engineering and Collaborative Haptics (REACH) Lab conducts research on autonomous systems, robotics/haptics, and human machine interaction.
The Kettering University Advanced Power Electronics Laboratory (AMPED), established in 2011, focuses on the development and testing of electrical machines and power-electronic circuit system prototypes.
