Fast Five With the TFSC Published for September 2022 – University of Arkansas Newswire

Six times per year the Cordes Teaching and Faculty Support Center publishes an electronic newsletter for first-year faculty members. Each newsletter provides guidance for faculty members at the U of A. The September 2022 newsletter is focused on creating rapport with students.

Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity at Purdue University, will be the second of four chancellor finalists to participate in a public forum on campus. 
Alex Russell, an assistant professor of public health, recently won an award for his research related to human resource policies that could help reduce drug and alcohol disorders among employees.
Stephen Caldwell has been elected the chair of the Faculty Senate, and John Pijanowski has been elected chair of the Campus Faculty and Faculty Senate chair-elect for the 2022-23 academic year.

The U of A student chapter of the National Student Speech Language-Hearing Association was awarded Gold Chapter Honors for its support of members, community outreach, advocacy and fundraising.
