Girls go one up, outperform boys with 100% pass result – Ahmedabad Mirror

Girls performed marginally better than boys in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 examination results for the year 2022 declared on Sunday. The exams are conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
As for Gujarat state statistics, girls achieved 100% results while 99.95% of the boys who appeared for the exams cleared it. Of the 2,184 boys who appeared for the exams, one failed while all the 1,431 girls who took the exam passed.
In the ICSE’s special category, 87 Scheduled Caste (SC), 65 Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 376 Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates took the examination and the result was 100% in these categories.
Compared to the national data, Gujarat’s girls performed better with 100% results against the 99.98% pass percentage for the country.
ICSE examinations are held for 61 written subjects of which 20 are Indian languages, nine foreign and one classical. Gujarat has 30 ICSE schools.
Two A’bad students secure Rank 39 in All India Merit list 
Dishita Komar of Anand Niketan School and Darshan Khushboo Talati of Zydus School for Excellence from Ahmedabad were ranked 39 in the ICSE All India Merit list. 
Talking to Mirror, Darshan said he was happy with the results and has opted for Group-A in Science stream as he wants to pursue a career in computer engineering. As to how difficult it was to get the score amid Covid, he said he too suffered from Covid but that was not a hindrance.
“On the contrary, during Covid, I could save on travelling time and study more,” said Darshan. Students from other Ahmedabad schools have also performed well in the ICSE exams. 
Meenakshi Shear of Anand Niketan (Shilaj Campus) school said that 134 students from the school appeared in the exam, of which 78 students got above 90%, while the rest got above 80%. Three of their toppers scored over 98% marks. They are Guni Mishra (98.8%), Dhyana Doshi (98.4%) and Amay Somani (98.4%).
An LML school official said their school topper Nehal Patel has secured 98.83% in ICSE exams. “Rajat Goswami was placed second in the school with 98.17% followed by Manav Kharbanda at the third position with 97.50%,” said the official.
The official said of the 45 students who appeared for the exams, 20 scored 90% and more while 15 got 80% and more. Seven students scored 70% and above while three students scored over 60%.
JG International School had 100% results. Forty-nine students from the school appeared for the exams. Samiksha Sethia Het and Amitbhai Bharadia stood first with 96.6% followed by Vansh Amit Patel (95%) and Janvi Bhaveshkumar Mehta (94.8%).
