IFSU partners with Singapore-based institute – The Manila Times

AS part of its effort to expand international affairs and linkages, the Ifugao State University (IFSU) has forged a partnership with a Singapore-based engineering institute for internship, mentorship and training of the university's information, communication and technology students.
A memorandum of agreement (MoA) was signed between IFSU and the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines (ICpEP)-Singapore to formalize the said partnership.
Under the MoA, IFSU said its students in the Computer Engineering and Information Technology-related programs will have the opportunity to undergo training in industries and institutions within the network of ICpEP in Singapore.
The partnership was an offshoot when engineer Marvin Mayormente, Chairperson for Computer Engineering Program-IFSU Potia Campus, joined the delegation of the ICpEP in a five-day educational exposure in Singapore on Oct. 5 to 9, 2022.
“With the MoA forging partnerships and linkages, the IFSU computer engineering students and graduates will go international not only for on-the-job training and mentorship but also for employment opportunities,” he said.
Mayormente represented the IFSU in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit Singapore 2022.
Considered the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, AWS offers over 200 fully featured services from data centers globally.
According to Mayormente, the summit which was anchored on the theme “Empowering to Innovate, Leading in a Digital Asean,” covered topics on developing skills to design, deploy and operate infrastructure and operations. Asean stands for Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
The delegation's exposure also included a visit to the International Business Machines (IBM) Studios in Singapore where they learned about the programs that are accessible in the academic sector.
IBM Singapore provides a range of services, including business and information technology services.
