SRC joins STEM scholarship program | Rome Daily Sentinel – Rome Sentinel

SYRACUSE —  For the ninth time, SRC Inc. is participating in the CNY STEM Scholarship Program, offering three scholarships and paid internships to local high school students.
In partnership with Partners for Education & Business, Inc. (PEB), SRC is now accepting applications into the 2022 STEM Scholars program for students planning to study computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or electrical engineering. Each of the three are worth $5,000 a year for four years and are accompanied by two paid internships with the company.
“Over the past nine years, SRC has been able to provide scholarships, internships, and often full-time employment, to some of Central New York’s brightest STEM students,” said Kevin Hair, President and CEO of SRC. “We are excited to be a part of this program again and look forward to continuing to build the STEM pipeline and the Central New York workforce.”
Launched in 2013, the CNY STEM Scholarship Program, endorsed by the CNY Tech Sector and the CNY STEM Hub, is open to high school seniors and aims to keep them in Central New York after graduating from college. Residents of Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and Tompkins counties are eligible to apply. This year, multiple scholarships are being offered by eight local companies: Cooper Lighting Solutions; INFICON; King+King Architects; Loretto; Marquardt; Novelis; SRC; and TTM Technologies. In just under a decade this program has generated 65 scholarships with a total value of $706,000. This year, 14 new scholarships are available with an additional value of $128,000.
Applications are open online now through March 1, 2022, at cnystem.com. The process includes independent reviews of the applications, academic records, letters of recommendation, a listing of honors/awards, extracurricular activities, an essay and a personal interview. View this press release in your browser: https://www.srcinc.com/news-and-events/press/2021/20211214-stem-scholarship-applications-open.html
