Strasburg-Franklin Local Schools recently announced senior Alex Schott and sixth-grader Matylyn Boylan as December students of the month.
Schott was nominated by teacher David Pumphry. They are a member of the Scholar Challenge team and enjoy the Principal of Engineering Class and participates in the robotics competitions. Schott enjoys video games and computer engineering. Schott was nominated because of how Schott makes it a point to help others in class.
Boylan was nominated by teacher Carisa Pryor. She plays basketball and currently serves as manager for the high school girls’ basketball team. She likes being with friends and enjoys math class. She is a 4-H Club member and likes to play games and watch movies. She is a charismatic and caring leader in school.
Both students received plaques at the January board of education meeting, sponsored by the district and Lion’s Club.
